Common Queries
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few questions that we get asked regularly here about fully-funded, FREE solar panels!
Is this a scam?
While it can seem a little hard to believe (we totally understand this!), it absolutely is not a scam. The ECO4 scheme currently allows for eligible EcoHome customers to benefit from a fully-funded solar panel system for your home!
Am I eligible for free solar panels?
To qualify for free solar panels, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a homeowner or private tenant
- Have a household income of £31,000 or less per year
- Have a home with an EPC grade of E, F, or G
- Receive certain benefits, such as Income Support, Universal Credit, or Working Tax Credit
- Have a home with a sloping roof and no mains gas supply
Will the criteria change in future?
This is hard to say but it has been the case that as previous iterations of the ECO (Energy Company Obligation) scheme have ended, that the next iteration of it has expanded what was previously available. ECO4 is due to end in 2026 and it is entirely possible that the eligibility criteria could widen!
